Rental terms to understand

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

CDW limits what you pay if the rental car is damaged. Instead of the full repair bill, you pay up to a deductible, often between $500 and $1,000 depending on the company and the car. Windshield, tires and the underside of the car are often excluded unless you add extra cover.

Third-party liability

Liability insurance covers damage or injury you cause to others. It is required by law on Curaçao.

Deposit

The company blocks a deposit on your card at pickup and releases it after you return the car without new damage. The amount is shown in each listing before you book.

Fuel

Most rentals run full to full. You receive a full tank and return it full, or pay a refueling charge.
