Returning a Rental Car at Curaçao Airport

Returning your car at Hato is quick when you plan it. Here is when to leave, what to check before you hand over the keys, and how your deposit comes back.

When to leave for the airport

Start with the check-in time your airline recommends for your flight. Add the drive from your hotel, then 20 to 30 minutes for the car return itself. Leaving Willemstad or Jan Thiel between 16:30 and 18:00 on a weekday? Add extra time for traffic. The drive time table shows how far you are from Hato.

Rental car return checklist

  1. Refuel on the way. Most rentals are full to full, and a refueling charge costs more than the pump.
  2. Clear out the car: chargers, sunglasses, beach gear and as much sand as you can shake out.
