The bus is cheap, but it is not practical with large suitcases, and it does not reach most hotel areas or beaches. From Otrobanda or Punda you still need a taxi to Jan Thiel, Mambo Beach or the west coast.
Local tour operators run airport transfers that you book in advance. A shared shuttle starts at about $35 per person and stops at a few hotels on the way. A private transfer costs about $65 to $70 per vehicle to Willemstad and $75 or more to Jan Thiel, with a driver waiting for you in arrivals.
Some resorts include the airport transfer. Sandals Royal Curaçao includes a round trip for every room category, and you check in at its desk at the airport. Dreams Curaçao and Sunscape Curaçao do not include transfers. The Curaçao Airport Hotel, 2 to 3 minutes from the terminal, runs a shuttle for $10 per room one way if you book a day ahead. A rental car is the only option that also covers the rest of your trip. The chain desks are in the arrivals hall. Local companies meet you there with a name sign or drive you to an office a few minutes away. An economy car from a local company starts at about $25 to $35 per day with insurance included.
From about three days, or as soon as you plan a day at the west coast beaches, the car usually costs less than taxis. See the full comparison in taxi vs rental car from Curaçao Airport.
